BLOCKED from your BPI Express Account? Here is the solution

Image
This happened when I was in Puerto Princesa (not that you need to know about that but it is important that you know where I was at that time). We were on a vacation with 4 of my college friends. While chilling in our room I logged in on my BPI Express Online account to check if a particular transaction happened (note that this was payday so you get the idea right?). I logged in using my old Sony Ericsson phone which was a hand-me-down from my sister. Yeah, it’s old. I filled in my username and password (which was incorrect). The page loaded my request. But because of – I don’t know – my phone or the internet connection I decided to click the login button more than once just to make sure I did what I was supposed to do. Unfortunately, the BPI online app received the transaction but my phone (or the internet) was so slow to even notify me with my failed login attempt. I remember clicking the login button one-to-many times out of annoyance. I need to chec

The "Choosy" Leader Syndrome

Image
I have been a small group leader for almost a year (I am currently handling at least 6 men). And as a disciple-maker I tend to get excited by the prospect of meeting someone new and eventually leading them to God. I would be very excited if I see them and think - based on their appearance - that they're already spiritually mature to a certain degree (I'm not sure if anyone could do that on a first meeting). But if I perceive them as such I would be energetic and friendly and desperate to mentor them right away. "Hi what's your name? I'm kuya Tobby! So welcome to KFCI and for our first lesson... " I would be daydreaming - teaching and leading them to God would be so much easier. I would love discipleship even more! The problem is when they're the opposite of my ideal disciple - spiritually immature, undisciplined and difficult to connect with. I would be very skeptical during our first meeting and would at some point try to

Ariana Grande Finds Her Voice in Sweetener

Image
Courtesy of: Republic Records I haven’t made an album review for a while. The last time I did, it was for Paramore’s After Laughter. Since then, I’ve listened to albums that have impacted me in ways I can’t imagine, and still forgot to write about it. I have a lot of albums to review – I need to catch up! But for now, here’s a short review of Ariana Grande’s sugary, personal, and confessional album Sweetener. I hope you enjoy! Ariana opens Sweetener with raindrops (an angel cried) – a cover of An Angel Cried by The Four Season in acapella. She does this one effortlessly; reminding us of her soul-soothing and pore-clearing vocals. Blazed starts off with potential but becomes a drag after a while. The light is coming seems longer than it should be. Nicki Minaj’s addition somewhat made me like the track a little bit. But it is long. Especially when it comes right after blazed. Not a review but my own take of the song: “His love will lin

It Comes In Waves

"Cried while en route to church on the bus today. Not the heavy one. Just a prelude to an ugly cry. But I was able to fight the urge of wailing uncontrollably. Indeed I have been really good at controlling these inevitable waves. There are days when it is heavier and then there are the normal ones, when I can keep it together and act fine."

Elementary Memories

Image
I was never the popular kid in school.  I remember during my elementary days (I forgot exactly what grade it was) a particular memory during our Christmas party. Weeks before the event, my classmates were already preparing for the program. Our room was already in Christmas mode as Christmas lanterns and decorations were hung and displayed across the room. One of my classmates (let's call her Lady Bird) had this presentation in mind: they will be singing the highly popular Christmas song that time, Sa Araw ng Pasko. For context, here's the link to the video:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCZEPl3_Gpo Watch the video below: They would be singing it similarly to how the original was performed.  If you remember there were various artists who performed the song (shoutout to all 90s kis, where so old now!). Each artist has a line to sing and everyone would be in unison singing the chorus. So this classmate of mine (LB) asked the popular kids
